With this acquisition, Bosch Service Solutions is increasing its mobility offerings and connecting to a partner network of over 12,000 towing companies.
Bosch Service Solutions has acquired Roadside Protect, Inc., a company that offers towing and roadside administration services. The two companies signed acquisition contracts on Jan. 31, 2025, after it was approved by antitrust authorities.
“The acquisition is a strategic component for further expanding the services we offer in the North American market. Roadside Protect operates a digital platform through which it manages its partner network of more than 12,000 towing companies in the U.S. and Canada,” said Henning von Boxberg, president of Bosch Service Solutions. “With this acquisition, we are combining our global customer network and our expertise in breakdown service with the North American towing industry.”
Roadside Protect is headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, and employees about 200 people. In addition to towing and administration services, the company also offers motor club products to fleets, auto manufacturers, and the aftermarket. Roadside Protect’s digital platform can be used to process service requests as well, allowing the platform to manage breakdowns, recalls, and claims for both light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
The two companies claimed that connecting Roadside Protect and Bosch’s online platforms will allow them to combine the former’s regional industry knowledge with Bosch’s technology and service offerings.
The two companies also agreed not to disclose the amount of the purchase.
