Reliable Transportation Association offers new CV damage insurance
Reliable Transportation Association (RTA) has released a new Physical Damage insurance program for commercial vehicles. The program is available in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, California, Illinois, and New Jersey, with Georgia and Florida expected to come join in a few months.
“This launch is about giving trucking operations better tools to protect their vehicles and stay on the road,” said a spokesperson for Reliable Transportation Association. “With reliable underwriting and a fast, digital workflow, this program helps fleets and owner-operators get the coverage they need—without delays, complexity, or surprise costs.”
The new program offers direct coverage for physical loss and damage to insured vehicles, according to the company. This includes damage from collisions, overturns, fire, theft, vandalism, and weather events such as hail, floods, and windstorms. The insurance program applies for owned, leased, and financed trucks for both owner-operators and fleets. More specifically, it covers tractors, trailers, straight trucks, refrigerated units, flatbeds, and custom or specialized equipment.
The Physical Damage insurance is distributed through agents with STAR Mutual Risk Retention Group. Agents can offer fleets quotes and bind coverage through RTA’s digital platform, which provides automated eligibility screening and quick quoting. The platform also grants policy documents, endorsements, and ID cards electronically.
A vehicle’s eligibility is based on risk indicators such as motor vehicle records, power unit count, years in business, and use of telematics or safety programs. The company said that strong safety practices and clean histories can also receive more competitive pricing, and noted that the program does not include premium financing.
