Optronics International president and CEO Brett Johnson will retire at the end of the year, with Mathew Jenkins, who previously served as president of Lucidity Australia, to take the reins as of Jan. 1, 2026.
"Brett has been instrumental in positioning Optronics as an innovation leader in commercial vehicle lighting and establishing our brand as a trusted partner throughout the industry," said Wayne Huang, chairman of Lucidity Enterprise Co., Ltd., Optronics' parent company. "His customer-centered approach and commitment to delivering value have driven exceptional growth and market expansion. We thank him for his outstanding leadership and wish him well in his retirement."
Johnson has served as Optronics’ president and CEO since 2009, where he’s helped introduce the company’s custom logo lighting, the Fusion Series combination lamps, its GloLight technology, and oversaw its acquisition of USA Harness in 2019. Meanwhile, Jenkins has worked in lighting, electronics, and wire harness manufacturing for 26 years, starting with founding his own wire harness manufacturing business in 1999. This business was then acquired by Lucidity.
While preparing for Johnson’s retirement, Johnson and Jenkins will work with Optronics’ leadership to prepare for the transition. Jenkins will maintain Optronics’ headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while also operating the company’s facilities in Muskogee, Oklahoma; Goshen, Indiana; and Winnsboro, Texas.
