Fleetio, Motive add two-way DVIR maintenance syncing and fuel spending features

Motive and Fleetio have partnered to bring two new features to their integration: the Two-Way Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) Sync and the Motive Card Fuel Sync. Both features are meant to help fleets streamline fleet tasks, improve safety and compliance, and give greater visibility into fuel and maintenance costs.

“This integration brings together fuel, telematics, and maintenance data in a way that helps companies not just react to challenges, but get ahead of them,” said Stefano Daneri, Fleet ecosystem strategist at Fleetio. “It’s all about turning data into action, action into uptime, and uptime into long-term performance.”

The Two-Way Driver Vehicle Inspection Report Sync allows issue resolutions to sync between Fleetio and Motive. With this feature, when an issue is resolved in Fleetio, the corresponding DVIR defect in Motive automatically closes.

Fleetio noted in a recent webinar that, for a fleet with 100 assets, integrating Motive and Fleetio's solution can:

Help avoid 30 or more major repairs
Save $21,000 in repairs
Add 722 hours of uptime per month
Yield annual savings of $260,000

Meanwhile, with the Motive Card Fuel Sync, every Motive Card fuel transaction is automatically imported into Fleetio, allowing fleets to connect fuel spend with driver behavior and asset health. It also allows managers to perform cost tracking, budgeting, and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting.

According to ATRI, fuel spend account for 36% of a fleet's operating budget, so any way to control costs will have substantial effects, the companies agreed.
