ASE offers free webinar on relative compression testing

The webinar will last one hour and discuss test set-up, relative compression theory, and more for technicians.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is holding a free webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 4 p.m. ET on engine diagnostics. Called “Modern Engine Diagnostics: Relative Compression Testing with PicoScope,” the session will discuss proper theory and setup of compression testing. These tactics can help diagnose engine misfires even when it’s too hard to reach spark plugs for conventional tests.

The webinar will last one hour and show how to maximize the test’s results, including getting information from multiple vehicle components at once. It’ll include:

How to set up for the test
Relative compression theory
The advantages of current ramp testing
How strong setup and testing impacts post-capture analysis

Those who register for the webinar will get a confirmation email with information about joining the training. Additionally, participants will receive a certificate of attendance by email about a week after the event. Those who can’t come the day of are encouraged to register anyway, so that they can see a recorded session of the training.
