Bridgestone Americas has launched its new Firestone FS592 steer tire for long-haul and regional trucking fleets, which will replace the FS591 tire.
“Bridgestone’s next-generation ENLITEN technology unlocks greater levels of performance, along with an enhanced focus on sustainability, enabling us to make Firestone’s best tire even better,” said Steve Hoeft, president, Commercial Truck Group, Bridgestone Americas. “With the new Firestone FS592, we’ve improved several aspects while staying true to the foundation of its predecessor, the FS591.”
The new tire comes in four sizes and is EPA SmartWay certified. Featuring an additional 32nd of tread depth, the FS592 also has defense grooves and an optimized shoulder rib to control wear balance and reduce tearing, plus five ribs for even more enhanced wear. And with a wider footprint to increase removal mileage, the tire is designed for 17% longer life (or 18,000 more miles), the company said. Finally, the FS592 utilizes ENLITEN technology to increase its durability, retreadability, and rolling resistance.
