Continental has named Torben Tiersch director of original equipment (OE), truck tires, Americas, signaling a stronger focus on technical alignment and partnership with truck and trailer OEMs, which is an area that directly influences tire spec’ing, serviceability, and long-term fleet uptime.

Tiersch has led Continental’s OE truck and trailer business across North and South America, guiding strategy, customer engagement, and technical development. His role centers on how tires are engineered, validated, and specified at the OEM level; decisions that affect durability, rolling resistance, wear patterns, and maintenance planning once vehicles enter fleet service.

Before the promotion, Tiersch served as OE key account manager for Ford, Isuzu, and Hino, managing sales, quality, and engineering coordination. He has more than two decades of experience across engineering, sales, and global account leadership within Continental. His background includes managing engineering teams and securing long-term OE programs, giving him insight into how vehicle design, axle configurations, and duty cycles influence tire selection.

Tiersch holds a diploma in mechanical engineering and completed a mechatronics apprenticeship with Continental AG, giving him a technical foundation that aligns OE design with real-world operating demands. In his new role, he will guide OE partnerships and technical development that determine how Continental tires are integrated into new truck and trailer platforms.

“Torben’s blend of technical depth, customer focus, and international leadership experience makes him exceptionally well suited for this role,” said Renato Sarzano, SVP truck tires, Americas, Continental. “His track record of building strong OEM partnerships and driving engineering excellence will be instrumental as we continue to expand our OE presence across the Americas.”
