Show trucks and pork chops: 2025 Walcott Jamboree doesn't disappoint
Iowa 80 Truckstop hosted its 46th Walcott Jamboree from July 10-12, with more than 45,600 people heading to the "World’s Largest Truckstop" for live music, fireworks, mouth-watering pork chops, and of course, a gathering of America's most well-maintained big rigs. In total, 87 trucks from all across the country participated. Canada also came strong with beauties such as a Peterbilt Model 589 called "Canadian Truxedo."
The weather also maintained itself enough not to dampen the event.
“Luckily we had finished judging the Super Truck Beauty Contest before any rain happened, so there was no impact to our participants,” Lee Meier, marketing manager for the Iowa 80 Group, told Fleet Maintenance after the event.
Meier said 70 trophies were awarded in all.
Dylan Mercier of St. Anne, Illinois, claimed ‘Best Overall Theme’ for his fiery 2005 Mack hitched to a 2022 Wilson hopper bottom trailer called “Our Fallen Heroes.”
Meanwhile, Jerry Linander of Winona, Minnesota, took home the ‘Trucker’s Choice’ award with his 1994 Kenworth W900L and 2025 Great Dane dry van known as “No Fences.”
The Show Class awards for Bobtail and Combination trucks went to Mark & Teri Lancaster with their 1967 Peterbilt 358M “Keepin’ It Teal,” and Bruce Jones’ 2000 Peterbilt 379 and 2024 J&L tanker trailer “Show Time,” respectively.

These show trucks are kept to immaculate standards out of love, and that's something we here at Fleet Maintenance can certainly appreciate, so we put together a slideshow of many of the other winners as well. (It might also be that we still can't get the image of the "pig rig" we wrote about a few months ago out of our heads and needed this to help forget.)
