Fontaine Modification adds Freightliner standard sit-down dual drive conversion
Fontaine Modification is now offering a new standard sit-down dual drive modification for the Freightliner M2 106 Plus medium-duty conventional trucks.
“Our new standard sit-down dual drive conversion for Freightliner’s M2 106 Plus offers a more streamlined, cost-effective solution,” said Jamil Young, president, Fontaine Modification. “With a simplified design, improved cab space, and faster production, customers can count on reliable performance without sacrificing core functionality.”
The new modification adds a right-hand driving position, which can work well in vocational applications such as refuse collection, street sweeping, paint striping, and pavement maintenance. The new standard can also provide more flexibility for in-cab equipment controls and improved ergonomics. Plus, fleets can choose between a T-shift or push-button gear selector for their vehicle.
The company also said they have engineered a simpler, more efficient modification process for their new sit-down dual drive conversion. Steering conversions for the Freightliner M2 are performed at Fontaine’s modification center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
