For the past 10 years, Rush Truck Centers has held an annual Tech Skills Rodeo.
The nation’s largest provider of premium products and services for the commercial vehicle market, the company has more than 100 locations from coast to coast.
The Rodeo – which now encompasses the entire dealership service operation –from service and parts to collision repair and painting – is focused on continuous improvement and employee recognition. So explains Mike Besson, Rusk Truck Center’s managing vice president of service operations and customer solutions.
New for the 2105 Tech Skills Rodeo, held this past December, was the addition of the Rising Star competition for Level 1 and 2 technicians. The purpose of this event is to encourage their continuous education, assist in advancing their career path and help with retaining them.
For any service organization, the challenge is first finding technicians, and then keeping them.
