Roy Horton, director of product strategy for Mack Trucks, talks about using Dimethyl Ether as an alternative to diesel.

Among the fuels the trucking industry is investigating as an alternative to diesel is the synthetically-produced Dimethyl Ether – DME for short. Mack Trucks, for one, is assessing its suitability.

He says DME is a good substitute for diesel.

Mack Trucks sees on-highway, regional-haul applications as one of the first uses for DME fuel.
