Merchants Fleet integrates cox fleet services for mobile maintenance
Merchants Fleet has expanded its service capabilities through a strategic relationship with Cox Fleet, giving customers access to a larger network for scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and on-demand repairs.
Under the agreement, Merchants Fleet clients will gain access to Cox Fleet’s network of more than 65,000 service providers and over 1,500 technicians, along with 24/7 roadside support and mobile maintenance capabilities.
The relationship builds on an existing collaboration between the companies and followed a 15-month effort to integrate service platforms and processes.
Cox Fleet—part of Cox Automotive—launched in Jan. 2026 and combines the company’s Fleet Services and FleetNet America operations into a single service organization focused on maintenance, roadside, and fleet support.
“Our relationship with Cox Fleet gives us access to a unified service model that simplifies maintenance and roadside coordination, reduces complexity, and helps fleet managers spend less time managing service logistics and more time running their business, all while keeping vehicles on the road," said Jeff Nieman, senior vice president and chief operations officer at Merchants Fleet.
Through the arrangement, Merchants Fleet customers can access scheduled maintenance, emergency roadside assistance, and mobile service through a single service ecosystem designed to support vehicles operating across different regions and duty cycles.
Cox Fleet’s model combines in-house technicians, mobile service operations, and third-party service providers to support fleets nationwide.
“At Cox Fleet, everything we do is focused on keeping fleets moving, and our partnership with Merchants Fleet directly supports that mission,” said Kyle Ballinger, VP of sales for Cox Fleet. “We built Cox Fleet with our customers at the center, to serve them with a comprehensive set of solutions for their fleets. That’s what we’re doing with the team at Merchants."
The expanded relationship will support several Merchants Fleet programs, including long-term fleet operations, FleetShare vehicle access, and short-term or on-demand fleet deployments.
Merchants Fleet said the partnership also supports its broader effort to consolidate service providers and simplify maintenance program management for clients operating vehicles across multiple locations.
