Fleet Advantage, Cox Automotive partner on unbundled leasing, maintenance network

March 4, 2024
The new partnership will allow customers to access flexible leasing options without full service contracts via Fleet Advantage while still leveraging FleetNet America's network of service providers and emergency services.

Fleet Advantage and FleetNet America by Cox Automotive are partnering to provide maintenance service via a nationwide network alongside flexible, unbundled lease structures. The two companies announced their partnership at 2024’s American Trucking Association’s (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in New Orleans.

“This partnership allows Fleet Advantage to offer maintenance solutions and alternatives and incorporate the expertise and national network that Cox has assembled,” said Brian Holland, president and CEO, Fleet Advantage.

Through the partnership, fleets will receive support from Fleet Services by Cox Automotive. They’ll only pay for vehicle service when they use it, instead of signing on to fuel, maintenance, and repair services (and their costs) determined by their lease provider, to be paid in a “bundled” monthly payment. Instead, customers will have access to Fleet Advantage’s $3 billion assets, the company said, including national account support from several OEMs, and FleetNet’s emergency assistance, truck and tire repair, and preventive maintenance services.

With the agreement, fleets will be able to access national coverage for preventative maintenance, DOT’s, and general repairs via 1,400 truck and trailer techs, 1,000 staffed mobile service trucks, over 30 shop locations that can also handle collision repair, 24/7 EMS services from FleetNet, and electronic PM forms and nightly repair and service summaries.

Cox Automotive acquired FleetNet America in 2023, an acquisition it announced at 2023’s TMC Annual Meeting.
