Ford is expanding its police vehicle lineup with the 2028 Ford Expedition Police Responder, a full-size, pursuit-rated utility vehicle designed for law enforcement applications.
Ford Pro gave law enforcement customers a first look at the vehicle, which seats five and comes standard with four-wheel drive, during Police Fleet Expo.
Power comes from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, producing 400 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle also comes standard with Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow equipment with an integrated trailer brake controller, Trailer Sway Control, and a torque-on-demand transfer case. A 360-degree camera and Power Split Liftgate with Police Accessory Independent Timed-Release Output are also standard.
Inside, the Expedition Police Responder features a black interior with police-grade heavy-duty cloth front seats designed with reduced side bolsters. The rear seats include anti-stab plates, while a vinyl floor and vinyl rear bench seat are intended to withstand the demands of fleet duty.
Police-specific features include Police Dark Car, which helps limit interior and exterior lighting, Police Engine Idle, and Police Perimeter Alert.
The Expedition Police Responder joins Ford's existing police vehicle offerings, including the Police Interceptor Utility and F-150 Police Responder. Ford says the new model builds on more than 75 years of working with law enforcement customers.
