Accuride Corporation has improved its decade-old Steel Armor wheel protection coating with an updated epoxy e-coat layer. This new e-coat layer, along with the zinc phosphate surface preparation and powder coat top layer, improve the wheels’ sharp edge protection, according to the company.
The updated wheels began shipping from Accuride’s U.S. facility in Henderson, Kentucky, on July 14, while those manufactured in the company’s Mexican location in Monterrey, Nuevo León, will begin shipping on August 14.
All Accuride wheels in white, black, and gray come standard with the enhanced Steel Armor wheel protection, the company stated.
