Rostra Accessories offering tailgate camera relocation applications

June 9, 2023
The accessory manufacturer added additional functionality so that camera packages and standard backup cameras may be relocated via ABS housings or the complete kit.

Rostra Accessories, an automotive accessory manufacturer, now includes 2023 Ford Super Duty trucks among its tailgate camera relocation product lines. Rostra’s tailgate camera relocation systems allow for the retention of backup camera functionality and surround-view camera technology when the tailgate or truck bed have been temporarily or permanently removed.

“Federal guidelines, like FMVSS 111, set the standard for rear visibility and Rostra has once again iterated on this inventive and intuitive product line through the addition of camera retention devices for the trucks that set the standard for the work truck industry,” said Aron Demers, senior vice president, VOXX Electronics Corporation.

Aftermarket service bodies, bed-mounted utility equipment, and even accessories like swing-out tire carriers and slide-in campers result in the removal of the truck's tailgate or removal of the entire truck bed, resulting in the obstruction of the factory camera to where its original use is diminished or negated.

Rostra’s Super Duty tailgate relocation systems are available for trucks equipped with the latest LVDS (digital) camera technology, part of both Ford's 360-Degree Camera Package and standard backup camera, where installers can choose to relocate the camera from within their tailgate using Rostra's ABS housings or purchase a complete kit with a relocation housing, original equipment camera, and 14.5' extension harness.
