    Remote diagnostics and over-the-air programming are relatively new technologies but have quickly evolved from introduction to adoption in just a few years.
    The vehicle electronic control unit, or V-ECU, was equipped as standard equipment on Model 567 and Model 579 trucks with Paccar MX Series or Cummins engines, in October of 2018. The V-ECU is the central system, or “brain” of the vehicle, which coordinates the input of data from all of the other electronic control units, or ECUs, on the vehicle, including the cab controller, transmission controller, ABS controller, and others, if equipped.
